Kaizer Chiefs have another match to fight in. The battle is a trip to Durban to face AmaZulu. Interim coach Cavin Johnson will make three replacements.

THREE KAIZER CHIEFS PLAYERS NOT AVAILABLE FOR AMAZULU

Due to red cards against Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy, Amakhosi will face Usuthu on Sunday without the central defenders Given Msimango and Edmilson Dove, as well as goalkeeper Brandon Petersen. The likes of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Njabulo Ngcobo and Itumeleng Khune are expected to replace the suspended trio.

Kaizer Chiefs confirmed the full details on Sunday’s match:

“With three games left before the curtain falls on the 2023-24 campaign, Kaizer Chiefs will travel to the city of Durban one last time this season to face AmaZulu FC in a DStv Premiership clash billed for Moses Mabhida stadium on Sunday evening,” the club wrote.

“[Kaizer] Chiefs come from a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night against TS Galaxy at the New Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane, where the match officials, led by referee Cedric Muvhali, issued Amakhosi two red cards and made some questionable calls.

“With only a few matches to go, the mission to finish in the top 8 has become even more critical as the team needs to collect all the available points on offer. AmaZulu will be looking to leapfrog [Kaizer] Chiefs on the log, as they are 12th, with 32 points from 27 matches. Amakhosi are in position 8, with 34 points after 27 outings.

“Coach Cavin Johnson will go into the game with some headaches due to injuries and suspensions to key players, including Edmilson Dove, Given Msimango and Brandon Petersen, who are on red cards.

“Tickets for the Glamour Boys’ 28th DStv Premiership match – against Usuthu – are on sale through TicketPro online at www.ticketpros.co.za or Spar and Boxer Supermarkets, as well as Sasol and Shell filling stations, including Postnet outlets throughout the country. They start at R40 per ticket.

“The match will kick off at 17:30 on Sunday at the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban,” Kaizer Chiefs concluded.

AFRICAN COACHES

Kaizer Chiefs supporters and the players still don’t know who will coach the team next season. Two reported candidates are from Africa.

Tic, tic, toc, time is moving. Kaizer Chiefs are yet to announce the expected new coach. Meanwhile, two of the reported candidates are from the African continent.

According to FARPost, Amakhosi bosses have created a shortlist of coaches. One of the names is a coach from Tunisia who nearly joined Kaizer Chiefs before the start of the 2023/24 season.

“I wanted [Chiefs] to give me a chance of coming with at least two members of my technical team who will help me,” Nabi said as quoted by Sports Arena.

“However, they told me they have individuals with running contracts, and firing them will be expensive. It became a challenge for me to agree; I realised they could not help me, and I decided to leave them alone,” Nabi added.

Another candidate that is linked with Kaizer Chiefs, is a living legend of the continent from the Democratic Republic of Congo. – READ THE FULL STORY HERE.
