Suspect in Tebogo Thobejane shooting arrested

Actress, podcaster and influencer Tebogo Thobejane is relieved after a suspect linked to her shooting was arrested.

Last year, the Muvhango actress was a victim of a shooting incident where her vehicle was targeted while travelling with a friend and driver on their way back home from Saints Champagne Lounge in Sandton, Johannesburg. As a result, she relocated to Dubai as she was living in fear.

“As a woman, it’s disheartening to live in fear due to the unknown,” the actress told ZiMoja.

Thobejane – who has also had a role on defunct Mzansi Magic drama series, Diep City – praised the South African Police Services for their work.

“The recent events have been deeply distressing, witnessing someone close recover from such trauma. However, I am a living testament to the amazing resilience of the human spirit and the unwavering support of both divine intervention and the diligent efforts of the Sandton police force.”

Gauteng Police Spokesperson, Colonel Noxolo Kweza, confirmed that a suspect was arrested and he will appear in court on Monday., 29 April.

TOUGH TIMES IN DUBAI?

Sunday World recently reported that things are not looking good for Thobejane financially. The publication revealed that things are so bad that the influencer is struggling to pay her staff members who work on her YouTube podcast, City Girls.

The news came just over a month after she parted ways with award-winning podcaster MacGyver “MacG” Mukhwevho.

The publication said that an internal email sent to the crew who work on the podcast informed the staff that they will not be paid.

“It is with regret that I must address the ongoing challenges we have faced regarding payments and account access.

“Despite our efforts to resolve these issues, the situation has persisted, causing significant disruption and concern,” Thobejane wrote.

According to Thobejane, she is having problems accessing her bank account.

“Accessing our account has proven to be problematic. Despite my best attempts to rectify these issues, it is evident that current issues are untenable, and they directly impact our ability to fulfil our contractual obligations.

“Regarding the pending payments, I am committed to finding a solution and ensuring that all outstanding obligations are settled promptly.

“Therefore, regrettably, I must inform you that we are left with no choice but to terminate our contract due to our inability to fulfil  the agreed-upon terms, ” said Thobejane in the letter.
