Award-winning artist Refiloe Phoolo, known as Cassper Nyovest who got married nearly a month ago says he is a faithful and an honest man after being saved.

WHY HE GOT MARRIED

The South African rapper Cassper Nyovest made headlines in April when he married his childhood sweetheart Pulane Mojaki in a traditional wedding ceremony.

The Northwest-born rapper reveals in an interview on the L-Tido podcast that he is a faithful and honest man after being saved. He also spoke of how different life was after becoming a Christian and getting married.

“I’m stepping up to what a man’s supposed to do, responsibilities. I was saved and I was basically saved for five months. I hadn’t had sex since I got saved.”

“I just wanted to be an honest man. I was tired of playing games. It was just time [for me] to grow up and be saved. I saw things from the right perspective, and for the first time in my life, I wanted to be married.”

“It was not even about sex; I wanted to be an honest man and commit to this thing that I say I am. I am proudly married and I’m having the time of my life.”

The 33-year-old’s wedding occurred after he revealed that he was a born-again Christian in January.

CASSPER NYOVEST SPEAKS ABOUT HIS BABY MAMA

The musician Cassper Nyovest also reveals that he respects his baby mama Thobeka and was working on co-parenting with her.

He revealed in a YouTube interview with Mpoomy Ledwaba that he and Thobeka have not been together for two years.

“I hurt my baby mama so much. We broke up. I’ve been single for two years. We broke up because I hurt her. And then I carried on living this life. She got saved, which is so beautiful, but then it became more hectic because now she is looking at me like: ‘This is the father of my child?’” he said.

“I was messing up. I did not have a female friend I would just keep as friends. Even in my mind, even if nothing happened. I was bad. I was really bad, and I didn’t realise how wrong it was.”

He admits that co-parenting has not been perfect, but he’ll always have respect for Thobeka. She’s one of the most amazing human beings and the best mother I could ever pick to have my first born.

“People will have their opinions, people will always try and create a narrative or try and create a platform to make this a soapie, but the thing is life is not perfect, people aren’t perfect, life is not perfect. I’m glad that me and her are maturing in our own spaces.  She also got saved before me and I did too.”

“We’re trying, it’s not perfect but we’re trying, and I’m trying as well. The most important thing is my son. I owe that guy the best version of myself. Not only as a father to him, but as an example of what a man should be, because it doesn’t matter what I tell him he’s going to do what I do.”
